Our recent push of in store live muralist under the  ’Creative Creatures’ banner has seen the likes of SPRINKLES, DALE BIGENI, TEEM, and BEN BROWN showcase their artist talent right in front of your very eyes.

Over the last two weeks Beach Burrito Co. has been stoked to launch a new live art initiative Creative Creatures at the Darlinghurst store.
The first instalment featured two of Sydney’s hardest working artists SPRINKLES and DALE BIGENI.

Both artists brought their skills to the table transforming a blank wall into an amazing mural over the course of the night.

Below are a couple of photo’s from the respective nights.

BBC will be hosting various live art events in the coming months so watch this space for info on future live art extravaganzas.

This Thursday the 28th of April will see Creative Creatures taking over the Cronulla store featuring the artwork of local talent Alex Maher.

Kicking off from 7pm at 1 Kingsway st, above Northies Pub, Cronulla Beach. For more info check out the FB event here.

Kicking off this Friday with SPRINKLES transforming a blank wall with his bold yet intricate style strongly influenced by Graffiti and Tattoo cultures.

The following Friday Mr BIGENI will be demonstrating his skill on the opposite wall. DALE’s crisp, clean style and impeccable line work shows the artists strong ties with the skateboard and Tattoo communities.

Last Tuesday BBC kicked off the Vans Bowl-a-Rama week long festival of skate with our annual TIC TACO exhibition. This year was themed ‘an exploration of Australian skateboarding’ drawing inspiration over all facets of the skateboarding culture presented by over 25 artists in the form of photography, illustration, slideshows, installations, and  painted/sculptured decks. A great night was had by all plenty of laughs, beers, cheers, and art purchases going down. A big thanks to Rekorderlig Cider for keeping everyone from going thirsty. Big ups to all the crew that contributed works to the show as well as those who came down to support Australian skateboarding. A Facebook gallery will be going up on Friday with all the works from the show which are still available for purchase till the 1st of March 2013 and will be hanging at our Bondi store.

Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ Bondi hits the shores of Bondi Beach from February 19 – 24, 2013; with Sydney the second stop of the 2013 circuit. In its ninth year, Vans BOWL-A-RAMA Bondi boasts a four day line up of skateboarding infused cultural activities with competition taking place Saturday February 23.

Bondi crowds will witness the most impressive line up of skate talent, with both the Pros and Masters division competing for an overall prize purse of $100,000 AUD. The biggest prize purse in the competition’s history.

The first round saw Glenno, Ross Radiation, Dale Bigeni, and Sprinkles all design a coaster loosely based on skulls.

We have had a hugely positive reaction and 20,000 coasters have been used to keep your table dry or walked out the doors.

If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of scoring the first 4 coasters get down to your nearest BBC store and get your hands on some as they won’t be around much longer. What good is a collection without the first 4!
